Offshore Wind Türkiye 2026: The Offshore Wind Sector Meets in Istanbul
Date: 13–14 October 2026
Venue: Piri Reis University, Istanbul
Event Type: International conference and sector gathering
Event Topic: Offshore wind energy, investment, technology, maritime and the supply chain
Offshore Wind Türkiye 2026, one of Türkiye’s major sector gatherings in offshore wind energy, will be hosted by Piri Reis University on 13–14 October 2026.
Organised by the Offshore Wind Energy Association (DÜRED), the conference will bring together representatives of the energy and maritime sectors, public institutions, investors, turbine manufacturers, shipyards, maritime transport companies, engineering firms, universities and sector organisations on the same platform.
Offshore Wind Türkiye 2026 aims to contribute to the assessment of investment opportunities in Türkiye’s emerging offshore wind energy market, the development of the domestic supply chain and the strengthening of international collaboration.
Türkiye’s offshore wind energy targets
Offshore wind energy is becoming one of the strategic pillars of Türkiye’s renewable energy transition. The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources aims for Türkiye to reach 5,000 MW of installed capacity in offshore wind energy by 2035.
To this end, four candidate offshore wind energy zones have been identified off Saros Bay, Gökçeada, Bozcaada and Edremit. Once the permitting and preparatory processes are complete, Türkiye’s first offshore wind YEKA (Renewable Energy Resource Zone) tender is planned to be held. These developments mark an important turning point for the formation of a new energy and industrial ecosystem in Türkiye.
Offshore Wind Türkiye 2026 will provide an important platform for strengthening communication between the public sector, the private sector, academia and international investors in line with Türkiye’s 2035 offshore wind targets.
The energy and maritime sectors on the same platform
Offshore wind projects are not just about generating energy. Delivering these projects requires a broad value chain, from port infrastructure to vessel and shipyard services, from seabed surveys to turbine installation, and from power transmission systems to operation and maintenance activities.
Türkiye’s manufacturing capability in onshore wind energy, its strong shipbuilding industry, advanced ports and engineering infrastructure offer significant advantages for the country to become a regional offshore wind supply hub.
Offshore Wind Türkiye 2026 will enable the energy and maritime sectors to assess these shared areas of work, develop new project partnerships and promote Türkiye’s domestic manufacturing potential to international markets.
Which topics will feature at the conference?
The core focus of Offshore Wind Türkiye 2026 will be the development of the offshore wind energy market in Türkiye and turning investment into viable projects.
The main topics expected to feature at the event are as follows:
- Türkiye’s offshore wind energy roadmap
- The offshore wind YEKA process and investment models
- Project development, permitting and the regulatory framework
- Fixed and floating foundation technologies
- Wind measurement, seabed surveys and engineering
- Turbine, tower, blade and foundation manufacturing
- Port infrastructure and logistics requirements
- The shipbuilding industry and marine operations
- Grid connection and power transmission infrastructure
- The domestic supply chain and export opportunities
- Financing and international collaboration models
- Environmental and social impact assessment processes
- Operation, maintenance and service technologies
Who should attend Offshore Wind Türkiye 2026?
The event will offer important business connections for energy investors, project developers, turbine and equipment manufacturers, shipyards, port operators, logistics companies, engineering firms and organisations working in marine research.
The conference will also be a valuable meeting point for public institutions, local authorities, universities, consultancy firms, technology providers, sector associations and international financial institutions to get to know Türkiye’s offshore wind market at first hand.
Participants will have the opportunity to examine the latest technological developments in the sector, communicate directly with decision-makers, expand their business networks and develop new partnerships for international projects.
Türkiye’s new energy and industrial ecosystem
According to the Offshore Wind Roadmap for Türkiye prepared by the World Bank, Türkiye’s technical potential in offshore wind energy stands at approximately 75 GW. The country’s strong industrial infrastructure, skilled workforce and strategic location between Europe and Asia give Türkiye the opportunity to become a regional clean energy hub.
By bringing together the worlds of energy, maritime, technology and finance, Offshore Wind Türkiye 2026 will contribute to the process of turning Türkiye’s potential into investment, production, employment and exports.
